It's mug time again!

This is me and Cheryl after work today. The photo is to be put onto a mug again. This time it's for our boss who's retiring. When we had the other mug done for Pat, who was also retiring, Penny had said when she retires she wants one as well. I shall upload it at Tesco's.

For some reason the order didn't go through when I tried via Tesco's, so I tried it with Boots. I'm SO glad I did! Even though the mug is a few pounds more, it's gorgeous!! I chose a gorgeous pink bird design with a grey heart where you can add your own text, and our photo is in an oval. Gorgeous, Penny will love it!

The news today is...

Most of you who follow this blog know I'm going to be a grandmother (I'm still far too young!), but anyway... they found out today it's a boy! I'm used to boys, lol. Dad is going to have a great grandson!! They don't have any boys names at all, they had plenty of girls names, but now of course need a boys name. They had no intentions of telling us any names before the birth anyway.

I've only gone and dyed my hair.... DARK!

Justin is the ONLY person to tell me I look older in this pic! Mind you... I have to say, when I looked in the bathroom mirror first thing this morning... you know, messy hair, no make up on etc, it was a scary sight!
Two other people at Matthew's school are now going to dye their hair tonight/tomorrow, lol. I've started something now!

Elliot the Elephant!

Here is my finished Elliot the Elephant! Isn't he cute? I wanted to stitch something to remember the day that I'd first met Justin in real life (met him online about 3 months previous to this date). I mounted little Elliot using some free Scrapbook Magazine papers for the borders, and I used some of my Cricut cut outs I'd made of hearts and flowers, just to brighten up the frame.

I shall now begin stitching my new SAL (Stitch a long), which is a sleeping dog, which can be seen if you click on the link at the top of this page. I have sort of given up on the tiger, though not entirely... it was just too hard to stitch for me, such tiny holes and black don't mix, lol.
So... watch this space for the doggy updates!

Matthew and Sean.

Matthew and Sean, taken at Sean's farewell party on Saturday morning.

Poor Matthew...

Matthew was very sad after school yesterday. His friend, Sean, had his last day at school yesterday. They had been friends for 3 years, and we remember the day Sean started school back in 2006 and he was very upset and not wanting to go into class. Me and Matthew went over to talk to him to make him feel better about going in... so they've been friends ever since.
Saturday morning we all attended a farewell party for them, it was fun but sad at the same time. Sean and his parents loved the stitched picture that I made for Sean. See posts below this one to see it. Which, incidently, is going to be published in Cross Stitch Card Shop issue 67, which is the next issue from the current one.
Anyway, Sean and Matthew have each others email address, so I hope that they keep in touch now that Sean will be back in America.

Other stuff going on...
I'm currently stitching Elliot - a little elephant with pink hearts from an old cross stitch mag. I'm having a lot of trouble stitching the tiger and have left a message on the SAL blog about it. Cheryl at work also wants me to stitch 2 silver wedding pictures...

Justin's favourite football team that he's followed all of his life, Cambridge United, are to play at Wembley this Sunday. Last year he was able to take Matthew and go there with his friend Brendan and his son Casey. They can't afford it this year, so are going to be having a sort of footie party here instead and watch it on Setanta... I really hope they win this year, lol...

Mobile upgrade time...

Well it is next month anyway...

I'm trying to decide between a Sony Ericsson W595, a Sony Ericsson C902, a Sony Ericsson C905, or a Samsung Tocco Ultra Edition... the latter two are on a high tarrif, but are the latest phones - full of gadgets, what I like... it's doing my head in choosing lol.

2 more creations.

I finished Matthew's door plate tonight. I'm really pleased with it, and Matthew thinks it's wonderful. I didn't follow a pattern for the lettering... you can probably tell, lol. Each of the letters in Matthew's name is with a different variegated thread from DMC, and the Room letters are from a variegated Anchor thread, number unknown though sorry. Matthew also wanted "Shh, I may be sleeping" as this is also on Darryl's door plate from when he was a child.
The keyring I've made is for Cheryl which I shall give her at the weekend.

So... today...

This is Darryl's friend, Tom. They've been friends since secondary school, and he is a nutter, lol. They bought us all pizza and chips and it was scrummy!! Here they are sitting waiting to play Burnout on the Playstation 3.

This is how far I'm up with my cross stitched tiger. The charcoal colour is SO hard to stitch on this black aida, lol. I WILL get there in the end...

We didn't do anything exciting today... town in the morning to finish off the shopping, then Cambridge United on the telly and they won, so they have to play Torquay to go up a division, and then we went over to the trim trail. We were going to have a picnic but it wasn't very sunny. So we took a few nibbles and drinks and just ate them sitting over at the trim trail... and then home.

Lots of photos!

Here's some photos from our BBQ which we had yesterday. It was our first one! Justin has always wanted one and we went and bought on on Friday, so he'd got it all ready for when I got home from work yesterday... this first photo is just a few minutes after it was lit, so smoking like a good 'un for about 15 minutes, lol.

Me just after finishing work!!

Here is Matthew sorting out our little greenhouse. You can only really see the tomatoes, but there's also runner beans, lettuce, freesia's, spring onions, chives, yellow peppers and mint in there as well! The strawberries and carrots are in the garden.
