...And then we went to London!

Hmm. So I'd reached the grand old age of 47 and I'd never seen Buckingham Palace or any other of the London iconic buildings, despite us only living an hour away from London! So, we decided to have a tourist day. Very Picture heavy.

Trafalgar Square.

The Blue Cockeral... a gift from France apparently. It's very bright.

Along the Mall now, and Horse Guards Parade.

The wording above the arches reads...In the tenth year of king Edward vll to Queen Victoria from most grateful citizens. 1910

Buckingham Palace.

We had lunch in St James Park.

On the way to Downing Street.

The very impressive Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament.

The London Eye (only Justin and Matthew went on it)

The Shard.

Tower of London, Tower Bridge, and HMS Belfast.

Love little Barkley!

I absolutely love little Barkley from Crafter's Companion. He's so cute.
Here is one of the new Christmas stamps. I've used fabulous snowy acetate, a Crafter's Companion stepper card, plus die cuts of trees, snowflakes and a snowy border. The papers are from an old paper pad which I can't think of the name of now, and I've coloured the gorgeous Barkley with my new Derwent Inktense pencils, which I'm also loving!
I'm entering this card into the Crafter's Companion challenge. I've not done a challenge for SO long!
The stamps, stepper card and the acetate can be bought from Crafter's Companion website. Click here.

This Summertime...

...we've had a great holiday and lots of hot sunny days!
This is how we filled it.
First, at the beginning of July was our holiday to Butlins Skegness. I think Butlins has a bit of a stigma attached to it, but we had a great time there! I bought my first swimming costume since being at Primary school way way back in 1976! So a long time has passed, a lot of chocolate has been eaten... I was so worried about getting in a swimming costume after all these years, but I needn't had worried!
What a great time we had.

Me ready for a night out! In a dress!!!!
The amazing pool.

Me and my wonderful husband.

Matthew's confidence grew lots in the pool. This part is the rapids. Brilliant! Makes you feel like you're a really good swimmer.

Doughnut? We spent one day only in Skegness.

Me with my fabulous son.

My very sexy husband.

Knobbly knees competition?

Inside the Skyline Pavillion, Matthew's favourite bit!

 Everyone loves the Merry-go-round.

 Me and the husband.
Oh I do like to be beside the seaside.

Oh I do like to be beside the seaaaaaaa...

Almost as good as the Chinese in the olympics.

The Big Top Circus that is there for the school holidays.

Beautiful nighttime shot with the Skyline Pavillion at the back. This is our walk home to our chalet.

We've already booked up for next year, this time in August.

We've also had a few pool days at home as this summer, well July in particular was so hot! Too hot for us, but great for the pool.

Darryl and Abby.

Just how much more gorgeous can a grandson get????!!!

Elijah trying to drown his dad.

Matthew having a splashing good time after school.

So after the pool day, a few nights later, Darryl came over with Elijah. This time Grandad (Justin) got chance to play with Elijah.

I love how cosy the conservatory looks at night. Justin looking at... well I don't know. Storm clouds maybe.
