Project Life weeks 3 and 4.

I am loving doing Project Life. Although I don't always seem to get the greatest selection of photo's. I'm also realising I have quite an eclectic style.

Week 3. The beginning of the snow and also Matthew's 12th birthday. I think now I need to add a big 12 or something to the photo of Matthew, I've realised that there's no mention of his age here, only the date...
We had just a small family tea party Matthew's request. He's not into big birthday parties, and that suits us fine. Elijah, our little gorgeous scrumminess of grandson, helped him to blow out the candles on his chocolate birthday cake. His present was a Nexus 7 tablet which he loves. He likes to play poker, lol.
There's a photo of my lunch when I was attempting the 5:2 diet... I've managed only one day of this diet. It takes willpower... I've not got any!

Week 4's photo's are mainly about the snow. I added a large single photo pocket to incorporate 2 photos I love that I'd taken over the river on Tuesday. The snow stayed on the ground for over almost 2 weeks until it was eventually washed away by rain over a week later. I'm also showing off my cupcakes. I would make them every day if I could, now that I can make them!

A little bit flowery.

Even though the images are quite large, they become clearer if they're clicked on.

Project Life - Weeks one and two.

I didn't take as many photo's as I thought I'd taken, so some of the pockets are more filler cards than I'd of liked. Nevermind.

Matthew created the bottom left Happy New Year cards. I'm not sure that he really enjoyed it until the last card.
The core kit that I use is the Cobalt kit from Becky Higgins. Lots of the other little embellishments and journal cards/filler cards are free downloads.

I really must improve my writing...

Fiddling with my camera.

I love it when I buy myself roses. I get to get my camera out and try to take some decent pics of them.
This is what I came up with this time!

 Fiddling with textures.

A Brand new Year.

So here we are. 2013. Last year was a massive year for me and it went sooooo fast!
So it's time I updated you all on what's been happening.
In my last post I mentioned that I'd sold my dad's house, well since then I've become mortgage and debt free, and still have a nice sum in the bank. We had our kitchen done. It was so old our kitchen - 24 years old and really was falling apart.
We chose pale cream units with black sapphire sparkly granite worktops. It's quite yummy.
We each had an amount to spend on ourselves. I chose to buy a new DSLR, a Canon 60D - I was debating between that and the 7D. I also bought a new lens, and a laptop.
The weekend before Christmas we went to the Harry Potter Warner Bros studio's in Leavesdon, London. It was fantastic. The Great Hall is amazing. Well worth a visit if any of you are debating about going.
I've also restarted my Project Life scrapbook as well. I will put photo's up of those pages when I've taken better pictures.
This post is picture heavy, sorry, lol. Click on a picture and then you'll see them bigger and beable to scroll through them all that way. Although you need to click the second picture for some reason...

The doorway to the Great Hall, directly behind the cinema screen. Amazing.

Me in the Great Hall.

Hogwarts gates - Matthew and me.

Mmmm, Christmas in the Great Hall.

Harry & Co's bedroom.

Lots of potions.

Dudley's house.

DOBBY!!!!!!!

Justin and Matthew in Diagon Alley.

The model of Hogwarts. This is used for most of the outside scenes filmed from above or far away. It is stunning.

It took me ages to get the lighting right in this photo... but I did it!!

We kept our cooker as it's only two years old, and the stainless steel and black fitted in perfectly with the black granite sparkly worktops. The tap is a Brita water filter tap.

Of course I had to have a new washing machine as well. We also bought a new fridge freezer but it's titanium black and in an alcove so I didn't get a good photo of it.

The little area at the back is what used to be under the stairs. We had them fit it out and plaster it and it's an amazing little space which now houses the microwave, and tea and coffee making things. It has made such a difference.
The cupboard under the stairs before the refit.

Showing the floor tiles and a breakfast bar on the right. Not used as a breakfast bar, but there for another surface and to guide you around the wall unit so you don't bang into it, lol.
